What are Anti Panic Sessions?
A crash course for the newly diagnosed, their friends and family—what to eat and what not to, where to shop, where to dine and generally how to live your new gluten-free life. Anti Panic Sessions orient and assure new members that they are not alone in making this huge adjustment. Chapter volunteers leading the sessions will serve as living proof that one can indeed survive the both the diagnosis and the diet.
Jessalyn O’Donnell, Thrifty Foods’ Registered Dietitian, and Eva Cherneff, Coordinator of the Lifestyle & Cooking Centre, Chef at the Tuscany location, have been instrumental in arranging to make the classroom at 1626 McKenzie Ave available for this purpose. Shirley Bond, our Chapter’s New Member Coordinator, has graciously agreed to lead the classes with along Jessalyn, who will be on hand as host and to answer any questions on nutrition, health and wellness. Participants will be encouraged to sign up for the public Gluten Free Store Tours scheduled for the Wednesday evenings following the session.
The Chapter wishes to express sincere appreciation to Jessalyn O’Donnell, Eva Cherneff and to Thrifty Foods for this generous donation and their unfailing support of the celiac community.
